Slinfold Golf & Country Club
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
- Redevelop a poorly designed; drained and contoured golf driving range.
- Modernise a 9 hole par 3 golf course.
REASON FOR UPGRADE:
The driving range outfield was aesthetically poor to the point golfers were not making use of it. Its contouring also meant the ball collection operation in winter was a problem making it very costly. The Par 3 course was flat and uninteresting and therefore not serving its purpose of getting new golfers into the game.
CLIENT:
Country Club Group
CLIENT OBJECTIVE:
To turn a problematic and loss-making area of their business into something that would attract members and visitors and become an asset and profit centre.
PROJECT LENGTH:
3 years from start to finish.
THE PLANS:
The finished project will include the following …
- A completely rebuilt outfield for the golf driving range, with target areas, and contouring to create free draining.
- A completely rebuilt 9-hole Par 3 golf course. Greens built to USGA spec and Astroturf tees.
PROJECT SIZE:
The project covers 30 acres and involves the importation of 200,000 m3 of environmentally approved soil.
