Bannister Stadium Football Pitches
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
-
Create 4 New Football Pitches built to FA Level 5 Specification
-
Create the base level for a New 3G Pitch
REASON FOR UPGRADE:
The current pitches are poorly drained and in poor condition resulting in lots of cancelled fixtures. The council have some s106 funding for the 3G pitch but do not have the budget for new grass pitches.
CLIENT:
London Borough of Harrow
CLIENT OBJECTIVE:
To turn a problematic and underused facility into an asset for the council and local community without any financial input from the council.
PROJECT SIZE:
125,000 m3 of environmentally approved soil over 20 acres.
PROJECT LENGTH:
The importation period is 1 year followed by 6 – 12 months of ‘growing in’ to establish the pitches.
THE PLANS:
The finished project will have 2 full size pitches, and 2 reduced size (9×9 & 7×7). The new playing surfaces will be laser leveled with a new drainage system installed to match FA Specification Level 5. In addition, a subbase will be built for the new 3G pitch.
Included on the site are plans to increase biodiversity with water abatement zones, new tree planting; wildflower zones, bat boxes etc
FINANCIAL POSITION:
All works to the football pitches, all planning costs, all set up costs including improvements to the entrance, are delivered at zero cost to Harrow Council
